Mellokit free tools that never upload your files

Crop image without uploading

Drag the handles, pick a ratio or type exact pixels, right in your browser. Your photo never leaves your device, hidden location data is removed, and it works offline.

How it works

Your browser opens the image and shows it with a crop box on top. Drag the box to move it, and its corners or edges to resize it; on a phone the handles follow your finger. A ratio keeps its shape while you resize, and the numbers always show the exact pixels that will be kept.

The kept pixels are copied at their full size into a new image, which is why hidden data from the original, such as the GPS location, doesn't come along. Phone photos are cropped the way they look, the right way up.

Made for the shapes you need

Profile pictures and posts

1:1 fits most profile pictures and square posts, and 4:5 fits tall feed posts.

Stories and video covers

9:16 fits stories and short videos, and 16:9 fits video thumbnails and slides.

Documents and forms

Crop a photo of an ID or a receipt down to what matters, without sending it to a website, and to the exact pixels a form asks for.

Screenshots

Cut away what shouldn't be shared. Cropped-out areas aren't in the new file at all.

Frequently asked questions

Is my image uploaded anywhere?

No. Mellokit never uploads your image. It is opened and cropped inside your browser on your own phone or computer, and the result is saved straight back to your device. No server ever receives your file.

How do I crop an image?

Choose your image, then drag the box to move it and drag its corners or edges to resize it. You can also pick a ratio or type exact sizes in pixels. Press Crop and download the result. Your original file isn't changed.

Can I crop to an exact size or ratio?

Yes. Pick a ratio such as 1:1, 4:5, 3:2, 16:9 or 9:16, and the handles keep it while you resize. Or type the width, height and position in pixels.

Does cropping lower the quality?

PNG stays lossless for ordinary images, and the pixels you keep aren't resized. JPG and WebP are saved again with a high quality setting, which is never perfectly lossless, even if the original WebP was. The difference is hard to see; if you need an exact copy of the pixels, choose PNG. In a semi-transparent PNG, colour values can change very slightly.

Does it remove location data from my photo?

Yes. Hidden data such as the GPS location, camera model and date isn't copied to the cropped image. Phone photos stay the right way up.

Which formats can I crop?

JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, BMP and GIF, as far as your browser can open them. JPG and PNG are saved in the same format. WebP stays WebP where the browser can save it, and the others become PNG unless you choose JPG. iPhone HEIC photos usually have to be converted to JPG first, with Shrink Image.

What happens to animated GIFs?

Only the first frame is kept, and it is saved as a still image.

Does it work offline?

Yes. After your first visit the app is stored in your browser, so you can open it and crop images without an internet connection. You can also install it like an app.

How large an image can I crop?

Up to 100 MB. The largest picture depends on your browser and device, and a phone may refuse a very large one. The app tells you if that happens.

Is it free? Is there a watermark?

It is free, with no watermark, no account and no daily limit.
