Why no upload matters
| Mellokit | Typical online merger | |
|---|---|---|
| Where your PDFs go | Stay on your device | Uploaded to someone else's server |
| Contracts, invoices, statements | Nobody else can see them | You have to trust the service |
| Page quality | Pages copied as they are | Depends on the service |
| Without internet | Works offline | Doesn't work |
| Price | Free, no watermark, no account | Often a watermark, limits or a paid plan |
How it works
The PDFs are opened inside your browser with pdf-lib, and their pages are copied into one new file. Pages aren't rendered again, so text stays selectable and images aren't recompressed. Your original files aren't changed.
Only the pages are copied. The originals' title and author aren't, and neither are bookmarks or scripts, because those belong to the whole document rather than to a page.
Made for private documents
Contracts and applications
Put a signed contract and its attachments, or all the pages of an application, into a single file without sending them to a website.
Invoices and bank statements
Combine a month of invoices or statements into one PDF for your accountant or an expense report.
Reports and coursework
Join a cover page, chapters and appendices from different files into the one PDF you need to hand in.
Scans
Scanned a document in several goes? Merge the parts and put them back in order.
Frequently asked questions
Are my PDFs uploaded anywhere?
No. Mellokit never uploads your PDFs. They are read and merged inside your browser on your own phone or computer, and the result is saved straight back to your device. No server ever receives your files.
How do I merge PDF files into one?
Choose or drop your PDFs, drag them (or use the arrows) into the order you want, and press Merge. Then download the new PDF. Your original files aren't changed.
Does merging lower the quality?
No. Pages are copied into the new PDF as they are, not rendered again, so images aren't recompressed and text stays sharp and selectable.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
No. A PDF with a password, including one that only restricts printing or copying, can't be added. The app tells you which file it is. Remove the password first, then add the file again.
Are bookmarks, links and form fields kept?
Links to websites and pages keep working. Bookmarks aren't kept. Filled-in form values stay visible, but the fields can no longer be edited. The app tells you when a file has bookmarks or form fields.
Is the author or title of my PDFs kept?
No. The original files' document information, such as the title and author, isn't copied into the merged PDF.
Does it work offline?
Yes. After your first visit the app is stored in your browser, so you can open it and merge PDFs without an internet connection. You can also install it like an app.
How many PDFs can I merge, and how large?
Up to 100 PDFs, 300 MB each and 1 GB in total. Because everything runs on your device, very large merges need enough free memory, and a phone may run out sooner than a computer.
Is it free? Is there a watermark?
It is free, with no watermark, no account and no daily limit.
